Louth Swimming Club recently held their 39th Annual Club Championships presentation at The Tennison Suite, Brackenborough Arms, Louth.

The night once again (by popular request) featured the red carpet with music for both the winner, and the presenter all coordinated this year by Club Secretary Emma Middleton and again enjoyed by all. The actual events were held late in 2025 but because of a very busy calendar and of course Christmas the presentation night was delayed until January 2026.

The teams of volunteers did a stunning job with the logistics involved in organising an event of this magnitude, thanks to all coaches/officials, team managers, technical operators, and poolside assistants.

Chairman Bob Wells opened the evening to a full house with 3 presentations

First up was The Louth Lions President Sam Varrall who talked about there role within the Community and together with Lizzie Shaw and Sue Telfer presented the club with a Cheque for £800 in their continued support for the club and the volunteers who make it possible

Then Bob thanked Iain Hodgson and Benita for their 30+ years of service to the club. Iain retiring from his refereeing duties to concentrate on another passion supporting RAF charities and visiting their daughters and families scatted around the world. He was presented with a gift from the Club by Mrs Jane Burke.

The last presentation and by far the most emotional was by Mrs Emma Middleton (Secretary) thanking out treasurer Mrs Rachael Miller for her fabulous financial work but so much more as and executive member of the Committee for the past 20 years!! Rachael’s response was equally emotional (don’t think there was a dry eye in the room) an impassioned plea to get involved, volunteer and support our fantastic club.

Magana Vitae Operations Managers – Adam Dalton and Charlotte Elliott-Wright (Guest presenters)

Ian Roscoe: ‘A great celebration, rewarding the hard work and achievements of our swimmers during 2025. Fitting tributes paid to two long standing volunteers of our club who are sadly leaving. ‘

The 28 trophies were presented by honoured guests and the clubs volunteer coaches & teachers

The room was perfect for the event and was at capacity nicely set up by Brackenborough team. The trophies were presented in front of the swimming club’s logo. The trophy secretary Claire Annison-Snowden made the presentations run like clockwork.

The awards were followed by a fundraising chocolate raffle run by Claire Annison-Snowden followed by ex-Club member John Atherton’s ‘disco’ was then enjoyed by all.
