This Mother’s Day, we wanted to shine a light on a special customer… And what better way to celebrate than by highlighting a mother and daughter duo!
Katie and Toni have found the perfect place to stay active, motivated and connected at Magna Vitae’s brand new venue in Mablethorpe.
For Katie, joining the gym was about more than just fitness—For her, it was about regaining mobility after a serious car accident. She had just started her weight loss journey when the accident happened, and after moving to Mablethorpe, she couldn’t wait for the new venue to open. Now, she’s making the most of it, especially enjoying the state-of-the-art swimming pool.
“It is always good to mix it up!” – Katie
Toni on the other hand, is a huge fan of Aqua classes, and feels they have significantly improved her fitness. She and Katie often attend together, though Katie leans more towards the gym, feeling the effects of her workouts more intensely.
“Whenever I come, Mum comes!” – Katie
Their weekly routine keeps them both engaged and active: Mondays are for cardio; Tuesdays are when Katie focuses on EGYM; Wednesdays are their well–earned rest day; Thursdays are dedicated to Aqua – And Fridays are all about lane swimming! They then utilise the weekend, taking time off to recharge.

Their dedication is paying off, not just physically, but mentally as well.
“It is really helping, especially your [Katie’s] mobility.” – Toni
“The doctors always say about exercise and you don’t always want to hear it – But it is true!” – Katie
Toni was especially eager for the new facility to open as winters in Mablethorpe can be quiet and cold. Now, she has a reason to leave the house, keeping both her body and mind active… And even better – Getting to enjoy this with her daughter.
The gym provides them both with an opportunity to spend quality time together and bond, while improving their health and fitness, too! They keep each other motivated, ensuring that neither skips a workout… There really are no excuses for these two!
Outside of the gym, Toni also enjoys line dancing in the community and they both love walking their dogs along the beach.
They both admit that what makes Station Leisure & Learning Centre even more special… Is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff and locals make it a place where everyone feels comfortable.

Their recommendations to others are:
“Get up out of bed, come to the gym, come swimming, have a chat and have a coffee!” – Toni
“There is no one judging you, I thought everyone would be. We are all here for the same reasons, to benefit and better ourselves.” – Katie
For Katie and Toni, fitness is not just about exercise. It’s about sharing a positive experience together. Instead of going out for meals, they now choose activities that improve their overall wellbeing—both physically and mentally.
Their journey is a wonderful reminder of the strong bond between mothers and daughters and how they can inspire each other to live healthier, happier lives together.
