The first week of operation at Station Leisure & Learning Centre, Mablethorpe has been nothing short of phenomenal!
The enthusiasm from both staff and customers was infectious on opening day. The grand opening was graced by the presence of Mayor, Cllr Claire Arnold, who kindly opened the building to a queue of eager customers. It was heart warming to see old friends and new faces greeting each other at their new leisure venue.
The spotlight shone brightly on Mablethorpe, as we were joined by Harry Parkhill and featured on BBC Radio Lincolnshire and ITV Calendar News. The coverage highlighted the significance of this new addition to our community and showcased the excitement surrounding our launch.

On the first day, customers had the chance to enjoy the first Aquacise class, which was a fantastic success! Seeing so many happy faces in our brand-new swimming pool was a delightful sight. Additionally, our state-of-the-art cycle studio hosted a Cycle class with Lizi, where some regulars reminisced about the improvements from the old venue.
It was also great to hear from customers about what they thought of the venue.
“I think the gym’s amazing… From the bottom floor to the top floor. It’s truly a work of art and everyone should be very proud of what they have done. It has been needed, forever really…Now we’ve got it, we need to look after it!”
Creed and Paige, members at the previous Station Sports Centre, commented,
“We enjoyed the gym. It was good. It was a big improvement and there is so much more to do. We train pads as we train for MMA. So, there is more to train with now then there was before! We are going to try the swimming pool next! There is just so much to do, trust me, you won’t be bored in here!”
Their positive feedback and enthusiasm have been incredibly encouraging, reinforcing our commitment to providing a top-notch experience for our community.
The team are now busy preparing for the introduction of swimming lessons, which will start on Thursday, 8th August!
Priority spaces are currently being offered to Waterwise members already on our Learn to Swim programme until Monday, 29th July.
After this date, bookings will be open to the public. What a moment it will be when swimming lessons can be offered to our seaside community.
Please note, swimming lessons at our Mablethorpe venue are currently available for Stage 1-6 and adults only.
