The NPLQ course is across 6 days (with the external assessment being on the 6th day). The course times are 9am-6pm each day (apart from the assessment day, which may shorter).

Your NPLQ will be valid for 2 years. Before it expires, you will need to sit another assessment. To do this, you will need to provide a minimum of 20 hours records of certified training within the 2 year period of being qualified.

You will need to be 16 years old or above by the assessment date to be able to partake in the courses.

All National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications (NPLQ) and First Aid at Work courses include basic AED (defibrillator) training as part of the main syllabus. Occasionally, we may run courses with a bolt-on AED certificate which will mean it will then be certified as an independent qualification.

For National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid courses, they will all include a multiple choice question paper. The 3-day First Aid at Work will include 2 papers (1 taken on the first day and one taken on the 3rd day).

No, all course costs include only 1 free re-assessment which needs to be undertaken within the required time frame. The Trainer Assessor will be able to discuss this with you if applicable.
