Before you are able to take part in an National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course, you will be required to take a swim test. This would need to be booked in advance of the course starting and with the course trainer. You will be required to swim 2-lengths (50m) in under 60 seconds and swim 100ms on your front, followed by 100ms on your back, continuously. You will also need to tread water for 30 seconds, jump or dive into deep water, be able to reach the bottom of the deepest part of the pool and climb out of the pool unaided. If this is successfully signed off by the course trainer you will then be able to enrol onto the course.
