Welcome to our special feature on Drowning Prevention Week, an initiative of the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS). From Saturday 14th June to Saturday 21st June, we dedicate ourselves to raising awareness and promoting water safety to prevent drowning incidents. As a Leisure Trust,  the safety and well-being of our community are our top priorities. Join us in spreading the message and taking action!

What is Drowning Prevention Week?

Drowning Prevention Week is a campaign by the Royal Life Saving Society aimed at reducing the number of drowning incidents across the UK and beyond. This week-long event focuses on educating the public about the risks associated with water and providing essential skills and knowledge to stay safe.

Why does it matter?

Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death, particularly among children and young people. Raising awareness and educating the public can significantly reduce these tragic incidents.

How You Can Get Involved

Why not take a moment to talk your child through the Water Safety Code? Understanding it could make all the difference — and we’re here to help make learning fun!

🖍️ Pick up a colouring-in sheet at reception so they can learn through play, or enjoy some colouring time right here in venue. You can even Colour in to Win!

📽️ Don’t forget to check out our Drowning Prevention video, playing across our venues this week — featuring some of our very own Water Safety Heroes!
