Magna Vitae is proud to celebrate an inspiring evening at the Active Lincolnshire Sport & Physical Activity Awards 2025, recognising individuals and organisations across the county who are making a real difference through sport and physical activity.

Active Change Award Winner

We are delighted to share that Karen Hill, a valued member and instructor at our Station Leisure & Learning Centre in Mablethorpe, was awarded the Active Change Award, supported by Let’s Move Lincolnshire.

Karen’s journey is a wonderful example of how physical activity can transform lives. She has improved her health and wellbeing through regular exercise, progressing from attending Aquacise classes to preparing for powerlifting qualifiers. Her passion for movement and wellbeing inspired her to go further — she qualified as a Gentle Aquacise Instructor, helping others to get active, build confidence and enjoy exercise in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Congratulations to Karen from us all at Magna Vitae!

We also want to celebrate John Paul Grayson, another valued member of Station Leisure & Learning Centre, who was recognised as a finalist and runner-up for the same award. John Paul has used physical activity to overcome significant health challenges, improving both his mental and physical wellbeing. His determination to tackle PTSD through exercise has been truly inspiring, and his influence extends to his work with Linkage students, whom he motivates to embrace fitness and lead more active lifestyles.

From our Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth, Caron Grove was also named a finalist and runner-up in the Active Change Award category. After suffering two strokes, Caron made the brave decision to take control of her health and wellbeing. Through the Exercise on Prescription programme, combined with her own determination and commitment, Caron has achieved outstanding results — dropping from a size 18 to a size 10, reducing her body age by six years, losing four stone and increasing her muscle mass by 16%. Her progress is an incredible testament to perseverance and the power of physical activity to change lives.

Last night, Ruby Fox, gymnastics coach, leisure attendant, and School’s Out coach, took on the role of judge at the Active Lincolnshire Awards, inspiring others with her passion, energy, and dedication to sport.

Ruby is no stranger to recognition herself — last year she won the Active Achievement Award for her inspiring work with young athletes and her incredible commitment to sport. She also became the UK’s youngest Community Golf Instructor, was a finalist for the England Golf Awards 2025, and was celebrated at East Lindsey’s Community Ambassador Awards.

From winner to judge, Ruby continues to make a lasting impact on her community — truly a role model in every sense!
