Eating well is one of the most important steps you can take to improve your health, boost energy and support your fitness goals.

At Magna Vitae, we believe that nutrition is personal, practical, and powerful—and it’s something everyone can improve with the right guidance.

Our expert Nutrition Consultant, Marko, shares his 5 top tips to improve your nutrition. These are general recommendations suitable for adults and anyone looking to support overall health.

1️⃣ Keep Hydrated

Water is a forgotten food group and yet essential. Even mild dehydration can cause low energy, fatigue, poor concentration, headaches, dizziness, and muscle cramps. Adults should aim for 2–3 litres of water per day, and remember that water is also found in salad, vegetables, and fruit.

2️⃣ Include Protein Sources Daily

Protein is essential for growth, repair, immune support, and mental wellbeing. Include a variety of sources in your diet, including eggs, beans, lentils, fish (including oily), lean meats, dairy, wholegrains, nuts, and seeds. Plant-based proteins are just as valuable.

3️⃣ Choose the Right Type of Carbohydrates

Less refined carbohydrates digest more slowly and provide sustained energy. Whole grains are a great choice, offering complex carbs and fiber for better digestion and long-lasting energy.

4️⃣ Eat a Wide Range of Vegetables, Salads, and Fruit

Aim for at least 5 portions per day (1 portion = 80g). Eating a variety of vegetables and fruit ensures you get a broad range of vitamins and minerals, supporting overall health.

5️⃣ Limit Sugar, Salt, and Unhealthy Fats

You can reduce these by lowering your intake of processed foods. Always check ingredient panels and nutrition information on packaging to make healthier choices.

Why Nutrition Matters for Fitness and Wellbeing

Good nutrition supports your fitness goals and overall wellbeing by:

  • Boosting energy and endurance

  • Supporting muscle repair and growth

  • Enhancing focus and mental clarity

  • Promoting overall health
