At Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture, we’re proud to be supporting individuals on their journey into rewarding and impactful careers—and this week, that journey continues with the Level 1 SEQ (Swim England Qualification) Swimming Assistant Course hosted at our Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth.

Led by the fantastic Tracey Jackson from Swim England, the course brings together a group of enthusiastic learners who are training to become swimming assistants. The four-day course combines written work, classroom learning and interactive in-pool training. Participants cover key areas including safeguarding legislation, the structure of swimming lessons, understanding the swimmer’s journey, inclusion strategies, behaviour management and how to use equipment effectively—all essential skills for supporting quality swim instruction.

Among them are three inspiring individuals, each on their own unique journey—Jade, and two team members both named Danny—who are turning opportunity into achievement through Aspire to Be and apprenticeship pathways.

The Aspire to Be Programme, funded by the Theddlethorpe GDF Community Partnership, is designed to help individuals across Theddlethorpe, Mablethorpe, Withern and surrounding areas to take confident steps into employment. Whether someone is looking to return to work, retrain, or gain new skills, the programme provides that essential boost in the form of qualifications, hands-on training and wellbeing support.

This week’s course is a perfect example of that mission in action. With Tracey’s expert guidance, our learners are gaining real skills that will directly benefit their futures—and their communities. For those involved, it’s not just about earning a certificate; it’s about growing confidence, finding purpose, and becoming part of a team that helps others learn life-saving and life-enhancing skills.

Whether it’s through Aspire to Be or an apprenticeship, we are so proud to be enabling these journeys and playing a part in supporting personal growth, community development and brighter futures.

Because at Magna Vitae, we’re here to help people live a great life.
