Louth Dolphins Host Level 1 Coaching Course
Louth ‘Dolphins’ Swimming Club, recently hosted a Level 1 Assistant Coaches course at The Meridian Leisure Centre, Louth, Lincolnshire.
The course started back in February with 12 – 15 hours of online study, followed by 3 interactive zoom sessions in March. The culmination being over 4 hours of practical experience over 2 club session, experiencing all age groups over 3 squads’ – skills, development and performance. Under the guidance of experienced squad leaders and their course tutor Matt Newton.
Matt Newton: “Louth Dolphins SC has done another remarkable job hosting the course on behalf of the Institute of Swimming and Swim England supporting the development of swimming coaches in the East Midlands region. The facility here is truly amazing, providing an ideal environment for both learners and coaches alike. The candidates have shown immense potential and are sure to be significant assets to their clubs.
Throughout the course, the participants have had the privilege of experiencing a broad spectrum of ages and abilities. This diversity aligns perfectly with UK Coaching’s commitment to nurturing coaching expertise across different settings and environments.

All of Louth candidates were reward for their hours of volunteering on poolside by the club paying for their course. This year they were sponsored by a generous contribution by East Lindsey Councillors Community Fund. Our thanks go to Jill Makinson – Saunders for coordinating fellow councillors “to support this very worthy cause which supports heathy living and well being locally”
