We were thrilled to welcome a fantastic group of students from Eresby Special School to our Magna Vitae venue in Louth, Meridian Leisure Centre.
From the moment they arrived, their enthusiasm filled the building as we kicked off with a fun tour!
We began our tour in the café area and Reception, giving the students a sneak peek behind the scenes. They were particularly excited to visit our spacious Sports Hall before heading upstairs to check out the fitness class area and pool spectator area. We were lucky enough to catch an Aquacise class in action, where everyone got the chance to have a little boogie!
Next, we made our way to the gym, where the students were wowed by the atmospheric cycle studio and state-of-the-art equipment.
After the tour, we had some insightful talks from key members of our team. Lindsay Barrett, our HR Manager, who organised the visit, was first to share her role and how she deals with staff wellbeing, recruitment and training. Steph Long from Reception then spoke about her day-to-day responsibilities, from answering phones to handling all types of customer enquiries with a smile. Sophie, our Content Creator, wrapped things up by talking about the fun side of her job, including writing blogs, taking photos, and creating videos for social media.
The students asked us some fantastic questions they had been eager to know, showing just how engaged they were with the visit. Before they left, we couldn’t let them go empty handed, so each student received a Magna Vitae goodie bag! To top it all off, they enjoyed a treat from the Aqua Vitae café, where they practiced their independence by purchasing items themselves.
We ended the day with smiles all around, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming more students in a few weeks!
We thank Julie, Ann and Lian for bringing the children to our venue and hope to see them again!
Eresby Special School is known for providing incredible opportunities for all their students. They even shared stories of their recent trip to London to watch a ballet! It sounded amazing. To learn more about their wonderful work, visit their website.
