Taking the plunge for Sports Relief – members of the team at Horncastle Pool & Fitness Suite will be diving into a charity fund-raiser.
Millions of pounds will be raised across the nation on Friday, March 13 as some of the UK’s best-known sporting stars encourage the country to get active to help the needy and vulnerable worldwide. This year’s campaign is being fronted by Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Over at the leading Horncastle fitness venue, which is run by the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture, members of staff will be taking a break from normal duties to together swim for a total time of 6 hours from 10 o’clock until 4pm.
In relays, of 30 minute sessions, the Sports Relief swimmers will be trying to complete as many lengths of the pool as they can. In doing so, they want all visitors to the venue that day to donate any amount of money they wish towards the charity cause. Collection points will be at reception.
“Of course some are better swimmers than others, but we are all prepared to dip in and complete our swim challenge for Sports Relief – so if you are coming to visit us that day, then come and say hello, support us and donate to the cause,” said Duty Manager Bruce Allan
The team taking part so far are: Bruce Allan, Craig Hobson, Sam Wells, Ewan Metcalf, Richard Milburn, Max Langdale and Rob Cunningham
