Meet Jenny…
JENNY Crowley has been a member at her local premier leisure venue since the start. Jenny, now retired, uses the gym and swimming pool at Horncastle Pool & Fitness Suite to help with her fitness levels as well as her mental health. Jenny use to attend the gym before the refurbishment in 2017 when new hi-tech TechnoGym equipment was installed. “I use to attend the gym before the refurbishment, and I’ve found that the new equipment is even better than before, a lot more variety and there is something for everyone.” Jenny’s favourite pieces of equipment in the fitness suite are the stepper, cross trainer and treadmill.
“I like to have a full workout when I visit the gym and I find that cardio machines help me achieve this.” As an avid gym goer, Jenny visits the venue around five to six times per week, making full use of her Magna Vitae membership. Jenny told us that she keeps activity by alternating between the gym and swimming pool. “I find that since retiring last April, I like to visit the gym or go for a swim first thing in the morning as it helps to set you up for the day. I tend to alternate between them both to help keep me motivated.”
“Before the pandemic, when I worked, I found that I was attending around three to four times per week and now since being retired I’m able to attend a lot more.”
Now in her early 60’s Jenny finds that keeping active and fit is essential to keep her moving and the key to living a great life. “I recently had a knee replacement, and although I was unable to do everything, I still managed to keep active. Visiting Horncastle Pool & Fitness Suite has also helped with my mental health.”
“I find that keeping active helps me to tone as well as helping with maintaining a healthy weight. As always, it’s good to keep fit!”
