Hundreds of amateur cyclists flocked to Lincolnshire to take on The Tour of the Wolds Sportive today.
This brand new event on British Cycling’s Calendar had been eagerly awaited, following a successful National Cycling Championships in 2015, where the Time Trials were held at Cadwell Park, Louth.
Participants gathered at London Road Pavilion, Louth before embarking on their chosen route. Neither the scenery, nor the weather disappointed, with the sun shining splendidly over the Wolds throughout the day.
With 3 route options providing varying distances, The Tour of the Wolds Sportive offered a challenging, yet achievable ride for riders of all abilities.
Tomorrow will see professional cyclists descend on Lincolnshire to compete in the Magna Vitae Tour of the Wolds elite races. 82 teams including Brother NRG Driverplan, Spirit Tifosi Racing team, BIKE Channel Canyon and Team Wiggins are all set to take part. We hope to see many residents and local businesses showing their support for this prestigious event.
