Strive to improve…

/ Culture

The Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, in partnership with the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Coastal Communities Fund, Lincolnshire County Council and The Great British Coast are delighted to announce the launch of their “Strive to improve” initiative.

The leisure and entertainment industry throughout the country and here in the East Lindsey district, has been severely affected by the pandemic and as leisure and hospitality venues prepare to re-open fully, businesses that have had to reduce the size of their workforces are now looking to recruit new members of staff so they can build for successful future. Many other industries have also, made staff redundant as they cope with the financial impact of long-term closure or a reduced demand for their services.

The Magna Vitae team work tirelessly throughout the East Lindsey district, as a provider of leisure and culture services – operating leisure centres, fitness suites, visitor attractions and a café. They also work closely with the local community, enriching the lives of the elderly, those with learning difficulties and striving to improve the lives of everyone they are supporting.

A huge number of people are now, because of the pandemic, looking to forge a new career and change their life for the better. The harsh reality of the recent lockdowns has seen our own physical and mental well being affected. The Magna Vitae Trust are now launching this brand-new initiative to not only improve our state of mind – through their fitness centres and community work, but they are also keen to help those people who find themselves out of work. Writing CV’s and job applications is not easy – with employers inundated with applications. The team want to help people stand out – make themselves heard and provide them with help and support, to ensure they can find a job in an environment they have recently had to leave and also, look to recruit the next generation.

The first informal drop-in session will take place in Skegness on Tuesday 6th July at Café Magna, located in Compass Gardens. Those looking to attend and talk to the team about any areas of interest or challenges they face are being asked to register their interest via email to: info@mvtlc.org

Over the course of the coming months, the Magna Vitae team are hoping to help people find a new career and, ensure that anyone who struggles in an interview environment can be shown how to overcome various obstacles to ensure they can flourish in the future.

There is no barrier to change. The team want to make a positive difference.
