A North Somercotes resident has become the 2 millionth customer to the popular Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth.
Since the Leisure Centre opened in February 2010, over 2 million people have passed through its doors; nearly double the usage target set for the centre in 2009, that’s enough people to fill Wembley Stadium over 22 times.
In recognition of being the 2 millionth customer, Ian Rowson, was presented with a free 12 month Membership from Magna Vitae’s Director of Operations, Aeneas Richardson.
Magna Vitae is a Charity that operates the Meridian Leisure Centre as well as leisure facilities in Horncastle, Skegness, Mablethorpe and the Embassy Theatre in Skegness.
Mr Rowson said; “I am very happy to receive this prize and thank you to Magna Vitae. I visit the pool twice a week and have done since opening; I also used the old Louth Pool before that. It is great and the Meridian facility is fantastic. I can feel the health benefits from my weekly swimming which motivates me to come. I look forward to continuing these visits and maintaining my positive health benefits.”
Managing Director of Magna Vitae, Mark Humphreys, said: “The Meridian Leisure Centre has been incredibly popular since it opened in 2010 and plays a significant role in keeping the local community active and continues to go from strength to strength. I am delighted the Centre has reached this exciting milestone after only six years of operation. I hope Mr Rowson, the 2 millionth customer, along with all the residents and visitors to East Lindsey continue to make great use of the first class facilities on offer for many years to come. We will continue to improve our facilities so that people in East Lindsey can access centres that allow them to lead a ‘Great Life’ with improved health.”
The Meridian Leisure Centre provides a state of the art fitness suite including a sauna and steam room, a range of exercise classes, an 8 lane competition swimming pool and leisure pool with galleon ship with flume.
