A new season dawns…

/ Culture

A brand new season is upon us and boy are we excited…

By the time you read this, hopefully our new What’s On guide will be a well-thumbed publication on your coffee table and you will have chosen a number of shows to attend in this wonderful venue over the course of the spring. It’s fair to say that there are plenty of shows to choose from!

A new season is always a very exciting time in the world of entertainment. We are rather fortunate that here at the Embassy Theatre, as we are a multi-purpose venue, we can accommodate so much more than just a ‘show’. We also welcome a wide variety of local events, dance classes and of course, we can also train and nurture the next generation of talent in the Embassy Theatre Academy.

Our brand new season for 2018 opened on 16th February with Be Bop A Lula, followed by Roller Disco, followed my Motown, which in turn was then backed up by Cirque Enchantment on 24th February. Where else could you see such a wide range of entertainment in just one week?

Over the course of March we have Vampires Rock, singing stars, top of the bill comediennes and musical tribute acts – again, where else could you see such a broad range of shows?

The optimism of a new season is backed up by huge number of committed staff and volunteers who all enjoy working in this fabulous theatre. Each show or performance brings with it, a number of talented performers who all use this stage in their own way, creating a visual masterpiece or perhaps, a night filled with wonderful musical and comedy.

Every new season, starting in the spring, morphs into the summer season when things are incredibly busy both here at the theatre and also in the town of Skegness as a whole. Thousands of people join us for their holidays and each one has specific thoughts about what they expect from the Embassy Theatre. This year will again provide them with an eclectic mix of music, children’s entertainment, comedy and much more…

It’s no easy task deciding what to book (and when). Because we cater for tens of thousands of visitors throughout the year, we have to ensure that we have something that everyone can enjoy whether the customer is eight or eighty. From the first week of the season to the last, each of these is different and every single one offers a different challenge. It may be the children’s holidays, so we have to think about offering something that the whole family can enjoy and on the very next night, we may have a show which is pure nostalgia… we cater for all tastes and you can be sure that whatever we choose, it will be backed up by an enthusiastic and loyal audience who will throughout the course of a year, make the Embassy an ‘appointment to view’.

It wouldn’t be right to go through the whole season now… you’ll just have to stay up to date with everything we have to offer over the course of the next few months. The Embassy Theatre will without doubt be at the forefront of any discussion about entertainment as it has a deserved reputation as the premier entertainment venue on the East Coast.
