A new digital offer launched by Magna Vitae Charitable Trust is set to support the local community and residents of East Lindsey. The programme will include virtual Facebook Live classes, Zoom sessions and interactive family packages.
The family programme includes interactive sensory activities, storytelling, fun crafts and games, learning new techniques to get your children ready to return to their swimming lessons and groovy old school discos, all from the comfort of your own home. Not forgetting a treasure hunt within your local area to hit your daily recommended exercise together as a family.
With walking becoming more popular during COVID lockdowns, Magna Vitae are keen to continue to help you stay as active as possible Figures revealed in the latest Active Lives Children and Young People Survey 2019/2020 published by Sport England on 14th January 2021.Currently suggest that LESS than 44.9 per cent of children and young people met the recommended levels of exercise in 2020 (60 minutes or more a day), even more worryingly 31.3 per cent did less than 30 minutes a day. Only 23.8 per cent were fairly active covering an average of 30-59 minutes of exercise.
The importance of leisure venues, gyms, swimming pools and sport activities is needed now more than ever. Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, who operate several leisure and sports facilities within East Lindsey, want to see an increase in children and young people participating in exercise, to help their mental health and wellbeing.
Magna Vitae’s Executive Director, Aeneas Richardson said: “We are excited to bring you the very best activities to keep you active during this uncertain time. Spending time focusing on your health and wellbeing, as a family is important, we appreciate in these unsettling times, keeping the entire family engaged can be a challenge. We are still here to help you with new ideas and hopefully something for everyone. We really want you to be more active, more often to help you live a great life. By our team creating fun and different ways to do this, they will have you moving without even realising!”
