LOUTH’S premier fitness suite is now open after undergoing the biggest gym transformation Louth has seen! The £300,000 Magna Vitae investment has seen a complete redesign of the fitness suite at Meridian Leisure Centre and the introduction of some of the world’s best kit.

In association with East Lindsay District Council, this impressive redevelopment was completed in May this year and hosts state-of-the-art ‘Life Fitness’ equipment across a two-floor space, with a new functional area.

The new equipment includes the world’s best treadmills, upright bikes, and power mill climbers with 25 different speeds for those who prefer a more intense workout. New ‘Life Fitness’ and ‘Jordan Fitness’ resistance and free weight items, as well as a signature multi jungle series and synergy unit, allowing individuals to customise workouts like never before.

The state-of-the-art cardio equipment boosts vivid high-defined screens with tv, streaming and internet capability, allowing you to watch the latest interactive apps like ‘Netflix’ and ‘YouTube’. You can also keep track of your progress and workouts by downloading the ‘LFConnect’ app and scanning the QR codes during your sessions.

The Trust’s Executive Director Aeneas Richardson is delighted by these latest improvements, which is welcomed after the last few years of unprecedented times.

“The world of fitness and health is ever-changing and as it does so, so do we. We are delighted to have moved forward with some of the latest equipment and techniques that you will find anywhere in the world.” said Aeneas Richardson, Director of Magna Vitae

The much-anticipated works also saw new flooring, additional mirrors, and improved decoration to enhance the entire fitness experience.

Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture which operates the facility, and three other venues locally, are pleased with the refurbishment and the new changes it brings to the area.

“Meridian Leisure Centre is our biggest leisure venue, and to now offers state-of-the-art equipment. It means that our members, users and local community can experience the latest exercises and workouts using top of the range kit, helping to improve our local community’s health and wellbeing. So come along and give it a go!” Added Aeneas Richardson.

Councillor Richard Fry, portfolio holder for Finance at East Lindsey District Council, said: “This is a fantastic investment which will directly help improve the health and wellbeing of East Lindsey residents now and in years to come. The Meridian Leisure Centre has always been a flagship facility which puts Louth and the wider East Lindsey community on the map for providing the latest health and fitness equipment and technology. East Lindsey District Council welcomes the £300,000 investment and I encourage residents to try out the facilities for themselves.”

Councillor Graham Marsh, Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Partnerships, said: “The new world-class equipment and facilities on offer at the Meridian Leisure Centre comes at an unprecedented time when the health of our residents is probably more important now than ever before.  It has been a tough time for leisure facilities across the country coming out of the pandemic so this investment into the Meridian Leisure Centre will help not only greatly improve residents’ physical fitness but mental wellbeing as well. I would like to congratulate Magna Vitae on its improvements and its ongoing commitment to helping improve the health of East Lindsey’s residents.”
