Our annual maintenance programme will soon be underway at most of our venues throughout November and December. This important work will not affect our newest facility, the Station Leisure & Learning Centre, but will take place at all other locations.
Why This Maintenance Matters
This year, we’re focusing on upgrades that improve:
- Environmental Sustainability: Reducing energy use and carbon emissions.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensuring smoother day-to-day operations.
- Running Costs: Lowering expenses.
These upgrades, along with our routine maintenance, are essential for creating more eco-friendly and efficient facilities.
The Bigger Picture
Did you know that outdated leisure facilities can contribute to 10-40% of a district council’s carbon emissions? At the same time, these venues are vital for building healthier, more active communities. By modernising our facilities with sustainability in mind, we aim to:
- Minimise our carbon footprint.
- Enhance operational efficiency.
- Support community wellbeing through better, greener spaces.
Why Now?
We recognise that closures are inconvenient, and we appreciate your patience during this time. However, the winter season provides the best opportunity to carry out these essential upgrades with minimal disruption to our programming. Once completed, these improvements will significantly reduce energy consumption and make our buildings more sustainable for the future.
Supporting Your Community
As a not-for-profit Leisure Trust, we reinvest income back into local services and facilities. This makes it even more important for us to prioritise eco-friendly practices, ensuring our venues are sustainable and beneficial for the community we serve.
